# Notebook Stories

> A full-screen reading format assembled from the content that is available in a notebook.

## Overview

A Notebook Story is a proposed optional visual reading format for a [notebook](/help/features/notebooks/overview). The local/staging prototype arranges available notebook material into a full-screen sequence.

Stories are not required for a notebook to be complete. No Story executor is currently selected; an entry point must appear only for a deliberately available validated fixture or future certified artifact.

## What can appear

A story may include:

* An opening page with notebook source details and summary metrics.
* Strain pages for strains that have usable source data.
* Terpene or educational pages when that section is available.
* Summary and safety context from the notebook.
* A closing or sharing page when supported.

The proposed Report V2 page sequence is data-driven, with no guaranteed page count or fixed act count. Its launch contract requires missing-data page types to be omitted rather than synthesized. Current Report V1 does not yet provide that guarantee and remains legacy-unvalidated.

<Note>
  Stories summarize notebook material. They are not dosing instructions or a substitute for medical advice. Source visibility currently applies at the notebook or strain-source group level, not to every individual sentence.

## Current availability

Stories remain under development. Staging builds and the Experience Lab can show controlled designs, but that does not mean a Story was generated for or durably attached to an account.

The launch design requires a validated source, an approved first-party executor, and independent feature control. Historical prototype fixtures are labeled as prototypes and do not represent launch behavior.

## If a Story is unavailable

Use the readable notebook. The durable ledger can represent Story freshness, failure, and targeted-retry state, but zero selected executors means those states are not live account generation behavior.
