# Ask AI (Professor High)

> Your AI cannabis assistant for strain research, cannabis science questions, and personalized recommendations.

## Overview

Ask AI is your personal cannabis intelligence assistant built directly into High IQ, powered by Professor High. You can ask questions about strains, terpenes, cannabinoids, effects, and get cannabis education grounded in science. Ask AI is available to **Pro subscribers** and requires a Pro plan.

You can access Ask AI from two places:

* **Quick Actions** on the Home tab — tap the **"Ask AI"** button (lime green, chatbubble icon)
* **You** tab — tap **"Ask Professor High"** from the tools section

    Your conversations are automatically saved. Resume past chats anytime from the history sheet, or start a fresh conversation.

  <Card title="Image Attachments" icon="camera">
    Attach up to 4 images per message from your photo library or camera. Professor High can analyze dispensary labels, COA documents, product packaging, and more.

  <Card title="Suggested Queries" icon="lightbulb">
    When you open Ask AI, contextual suggestions help you get started — "Tell me about Blue Dream", "What does limonene do?", and more.

    Long-press any message to copy it to your clipboard with haptic feedback for quick sharing.

  <Card title="Regenerate Response" icon="rotate-right">
    Tap the regenerate button on the latest assistant turn to re-run the response — useful if the answer was cut short or you want a fresh take on the same question.

  <Card title="Inline Error Recovery" icon="triangle-exclamation">
    If a response fails mid-stream, an inline error card appears in the conversation thread with Retry and Dismiss options — no need to start a new chat.

  <Card title="Markdown Rendering" icon="text">
    Responses render with full markdown support including tables, code blocks, and GFM formatting for structured comparisons.

## How to Use Ask AI

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Chat">
    Tap **"Ask AI"** in the Quick Actions section on the Home tab, or tap **"Ask Professor High"** in the Tools Section. The chat interface opens with suggested queries.

  <Step title="Ask a Question">
    Type any cannabis-related question — strain comparisons, terpene science, effect research, growing questions, or anything else in the cannabis space.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Watch the Response Stream">
    Professor High streams a response in real time. Responses include rich markdown formatting with tables, lists, and code blocks where relevant.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Continue the Conversation">
    Follow up naturally — the AI remembers your full conversation. Use the **History** button to resume past sessions, or **New Chat** to start fresh.

## Conversation History

Your conversations are automatically saved to the cloud so you never lose a chat:

* **Auto-save** — Conversations save automatically when the AI finishes responding and when you leave the screen
* **Resume anytime** — Tap the **History** button to see past sessions with preview text and message counts
* **Start fresh** — Tap **New Chat** to begin a new conversation without losing previous ones

<Tip>
  **Be specific for better answers.** Instead of "Tell me about sativas," try "What sativa strains with high limonene are good for daytime focus?" The more context you provide, the more targeted the response.

  **Ask about your own data** for the most personalized experience. Questions like "Based on my stash, what should I try next?" leverage your personal history to give recommendations no generic chatbot can match.

  **Check the source cards.** When Ask AI cites web sources, tap the cards to verify claims against the original material. This is especially important for medical-related questions.
