# Missing Strains, Sessions & Reports

> Help with missing strains in the database, lost sessions, disappeared reports, and other missing data.

If you cannot find a strain, your sessions have disappeared, or reports are missing, this guide explains why and how to resolve it.

## Common Causes

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="A specific strain is not in the database">
    **Symptoms:** You search for a strain by name and it does not appear in search results, or you get a "no results found" message.

    **Solution:**

    <Steps>
      <Step title="Try alternative names">
        Many strains go by multiple names or abbreviations. For example, "Girl Scout Cookies" may also be listed as "GSC," and "Gorilla Glue #4" may appear as "GG4" or "Original Glue." Try variations of the name.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Check your spelling">
        Strain names can be tricky. Try partial searches — for example, search "Blue Dr" instead of "Blue Dream" to see if the strain appears with a slightly different spelling.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Browse by lineage or family">
        If the exact strain is not in the database, you can often find it by browsing its parent strains or its High Family category. Many newer strains share lineage with well-known strains.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Request the strain">
        Contact support to request a strain be added. Our research pipeline processes requested strains, typically adding them within 48 hours.
      </Step>
    </Steps>

    <Info>
      The High IQ database contains 16,000+ strains and is updated daily through automated research pipelines. New strains are discovered and added continuously from dispensary databases, breeder documentation, and scientific sources.
    </Info>
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Stash items have disappeared">
    **Symptoms:** Strains you previously added to your stash are no longer visible in the Stash tab.

    **Solution:**

    <Steps>
      <Step title="Check the filter or tab">
        The Stash screen may have filter options (active, archived, all). Make sure you are viewing **All** items and not filtering to only active or a specific category.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Verify your account">
        Make sure you are signed into the same account where you added the stash items. Go to **Settings** and confirm your account identity.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Pull to refresh">
        Pull down on the Stash screen to force a sync. If the items were recently added on another device, they should appear after a refresh.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Check if items were archived">
        If you marked stash items as "finished" or "archived," they may be hidden from the default view. Look for an archive or history section.
      </Step>
    </Steps>
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Sessions or consumption logs are missing">
    **Symptoms:** You logged a session but it does not appear in your session history or stats.

    **Solution:**

    <Steps>
      <Step title="Check the date range">
        Session history may default to a recent time range (this week, this month). Expand the date range to see older sessions.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Verify the session was saved">
        If the app crashed or lost connection while you were logging a session, the session may not have been saved. Check for a draft or unsaved session.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Force-close and reopen">
        If you just logged a session and it is not appearing, force-close and reopen the app to trigger a fresh sync.
      </Step>
    </Steps>

    <Warning>
      If you were offline when logging a session, the session should be saved locally and synced when your connection is restored. However, if you force-closed the app before going back online, the session may have been lost. Always ensure you see a confirmation before closing the app.
    </Warning>
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Reports are missing or empty">
    **Symptoms:** Previously generated reports are gone, or a newly generated report shows no data.

    **Solution:**

    <Steps>
      <Step title="Check if you have enough data">
        Reports require sufficient consumption data to generate meaningful insights. If you have only 1-2 stash items and no sessions, reports may show limited or no content.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Verify the report finished generating">
        Reports are generated via streaming and take 30-90 seconds to complete. If you navigated away before the report finished, it may be incomplete.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Regenerate the report">
        If a report appears empty or corrupted, generate a new one. Each report is created fresh with the latest data.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Check your account">
        Reports are tied to your account. If you signed in with a different provider (Apple vs. Google), you may be looking at a different account's reports.
      </Step>
    </Steps>
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Favorites list is empty">
    **Symptoms:** You favorited multiple strains but the Favorites screen is empty.

    **Solution:**

    <Steps>
      <Step title="Verify you are signed in">
        Favorites are stored in your cloud account. If you were using the app without being signed in, favorites may have been saved locally and lost on reinstall.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Check for account mismatch">
        If you use both Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In, each creates a separate account. Make sure you are signed into the account where you added your favorites.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Pull to refresh">
        Pull down on the Favorites screen to force a re-fetch from the server.
      </Step>
    </Steps>
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Strain details are incomplete or show 'N/A'">
    **Symptoms:** A strain profile exists but is missing terpene data, THC percentages, lineage, or other fields.

    **Solution:**

    Not all strain fields are available for every strain. Data availability depends on what public sources and lab results exist for that strain.

    * **THC/CBD percentages:** Only shown when verified lab data is available. Ranges may vary by batch.
    * **Terpene profiles:** Requires lab-tested terpene data. Many strains have this, but some do not.
    * **Lineage:** Some newer or proprietary strains do not have publicly documented parent strains.
    * **Effects and flavors:** Aggregated from user reports and research. Very new or rare strains may have limited data.

    <Tip>
      The strain database is updated daily. If a strain is missing data today, check back later — our research pipeline may add it as new sources become available.
    </Tip>
