# Lab Logs — Scripts
> Five serialized 3 AM research diary episodes. Every log ends on a cliffhanger. Script IDs LAB-001 through LAB-005.

**Every episode ends on the catchphrase.** *"This is why I'm high."* The line is the domain, so the sign-off does the funnel work with no "link in bio." Delivered flat and sincere, never explained, never in the first three seconds. See [The Funnel](/social/funnel#the-sign-off).
## Pack Summary
**This pack has been re-scoped.** It was written as a five-night serialised arc where each log depends on the last. Three independent findings say that is wrong: comedy has the **lowest binge rate** of any genre, every episode should work cold, and **numbered sequels decay hard** — one series fell from 172.5K to 63.0K across five episodes.
**Each log now stands alone.** The running numbers, the timestamps, and the "more tomorrow night" sign-off stay — they are cheap lore that makes the account feel deep. What changes is that **no episode requires a previous one.** A viewer landing on Log #0251 first should get complete value with no homework.
The serial texture is the *aesthetic*, not the structure. Post them on consecutive nights for the ritual, but write each so it could be anyone's first.

**Recurring assets:** monospace lower-third with log number and timestamp, candle flicker, handwritten annotations over data, "more tomorrow night" card.
**Numbering is permanent and continues across seasons.** `LAB-001` is Log #0247 forever. The high starting number implies 246 nights of prior work — it is the cheapest possible way to make a brand new show feel like it has history.

## Production Batch Notes
* **Post on consecutive nights** for the ritual, but never write a beat that requires the previous episode. If a log opens by referencing an earlier finding, it must re-state that finding in one clause so a cold viewer is not lost.
* Late-evening posting slot, 9-11 PM Central. The aesthetic is a 3 AM diary and the audience should be watching it in bed.
* One continuous take wherever possible. The intimacy is the format — a heavily cut Lab Log feels produced, and produced kills the conceit.
* Real candle flicker in the lighting, papers genuinely scattered, glassware actually present. The set should look worked-in rather than dressed.
* Every log ends on "more tomorrow night" and every log must actually deliver a tomorrow. Breaking the chain once teaches the audience the promise is decorative.
* `LAB-005` deliberately withholds a name. If the arc performs, the name becomes season two. If it does not, nothing was promised that cannot be quietly dropped.
* Watch **episode 1 against episode 1** of other packs, not `LAB-002` against `LAB-001`. Sequels decay by default across the whole platform, so a within-series drop tells you nothing about whether the show works.
