# Verified Data Sheet

> The real, queried numbers behind Professor High scripts — plus the rule about which ones belong on camera and which ones do not.

## Why This Page Exists

Professor High's value proposition is that he does not make things up. This page is the source of truth for any figure a [script pack](/social/scripts/overview) leans on.

But the more important job of this page is telling you what **not** to say.

## Rule One: Inventory Is Not A Story

<Warning>
  **Do not build hooks, captions, or on-screen text around how many strains we have.** A database count is a company fact, not an audience fact. Nobody has ever shared a video because a company had a big table.

The number of strains we track is a **credibility footnote**, not a content premise. It belongs in an about page, not in a hook.

What *does* travel is the **shape** of the data — proportions, ratios, and rarity:

A proportion is a claim about **cannabis**. A count is a claim about **us**. Always make the claim about cannabis.

## Rule Two: The Positioning Is On-Demand Research

When scale genuinely needs stating — a brand beat, an app CTA, a bio line — the correct framing is **coverage plus on-demand research**, not a fixed inventory:

> "Over 20,000 strains, and you can research any strain on demand."

That is the actual product. The catalog is not a finished list we are counting up to; it is a starting surface, and anything not yet researched can be researched when someone asks. Framing it as a fixed number makes a living system sound like a static one — and invites the exact question we do not want ("is my strain in there?").

## Terpene Dominance Distribution

The most useful dataset in the content library. Almost every strong hook comes from here, and none of them require citing a database size.

  Re-verified 2026-08-08 against `strains_v2` (2,533 of 2,750 strains carry a dominant terpene). The previous figures — myrcene 45.8%, limonene 25.4%, caryophyllene 15.2%, top three 86.4% — have drifted upward slightly as the corpus grew. Scripts already shot against the old numbers are still substantively correct; use the numbers above for anything new.

**Safe on-camera claims:**

* Three terpenes — myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene — lead **87%** of all classified strains.
* **Nearly half** of all cannabis is myrcene-dominant.
* Terpinolene leads about **1 in 22** strains. It is genuinely rare.
* Linalool — the terpene most associated with calm — leads about **1 in 66**.

<Warning>
  **Two different 86% figures exist. Never merge them into one sentence.**

  1. **Ours (the table above).** Three terpenes are the *dominant* terpene in \~87% of our classified strains. This is a fact about **how many strains** each terpene leads, measured on our own database. This is the one the hooks `KG-04` and `DD-03` cite.
  2. **The German chemovar study's.** *Nine* terpenes — β-myrcene, β-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, α-humulene, α-pinene, β-pinene, terpinolene and fenchol — account for **86% of the variation in terpene profiles** ([DOI: 10.1089/can.2024.0127](https://doi.org/10.1089/can.2024.0127)). This is a fact about **how much chemistry** those nine explain, measured on 140 German medicinal flowers.

  The numbers are a coincidence. Saying "the German study found three terpenes are 86% of cannabis" is false on both counts — wrong terpene count and wrong statistic — and it is the single easiest way to get our science credibility challenged. If a script cites the study, it must say **nine**.

  `Caryophyllene` and `Beta-Caryophyllene` are stored as separate labels but are the same compound. The 15.3% figure is the combined share. Always use the combined number; the split is a data-hygiene artifact.

## THC Reality Check

**Safe on-camera claims:**

* Only about **1 in 10** strains reaches 25% THC.
* Fewer than **1 in 200** reaches 30%. If a menu is full of 30%+ flower, the menu is the problem.
* The average good strain is around **20%**. That is what normal looks like.

**Safe on-camera claims:**

* **Jack Herer** is the only terpinolene-dominant strain in the top ten. That is why it feels different from everything around it.
* **Sour Diesel** is limonene-dominant, not myrcene-dominant, despite the reputation.
* Not one strain in the top ten clears 25% THC. The most popular cannabis in the country is **not** the strongest.

If a strain has not been researched yet, that is not a gap to hide — it is the product. Run it, then make the episode about the result.
