Overview

The Home Dashboard is the first screen you see when you open High IQ. It serves as your command center, giving you a quick view of your current stash, recent activity, key stats, collection progress, and trending strains — all in one scrollable feed with a modern glass-morphism design. The dashboard adapts to your sign-in state. Signed-out users see preview cards with locked overlays that showcase what each feature looks like when unlocked.

Dashboard Sections

The home screen is organized into modular sections from top to bottom:

Hero Header

A gradient header with a personalized greeting, featured strain spotlight, and stash preview at a glance.

Strain Search

Quick-access search bar to jump directly into the 16,000+ strain database from the Dashboard.

Quick Actions

A 4-button action grid for your most common tasks: Upload, Discover, Scan Label, and Ask AI.

Tools Section

Quick access to powerful tools: Ask Professor High, My Shops, My Collection, and educational guides.

Upload Order CTA

A prominent call-to-action to upload dispensary receipts, import orders, or add purchases to start building your consumption history.

Current Strains

A live preview of your active stash with total grams, strain count, and a type composition bar showing your sativa/hybrid/indica balance.

Stats Preview

A snapshot of your key lifetime metrics: total orders, total spent, unique strains tried, and average order value.

Collection Preview

Summary of your strain collection with counts for owned, tasted, and wishlist strains, plus your top-ranked strains.

Rankings Preview

Your current strain rankings with ELO ratings, number of comparisons completed, and a prompt to start ranking if you have enough strains.

Order Insights

A preview of your latest AI-generated notebook, including the executive insight summary and notebook status.

Stash Stats

A 3-card stats row showing active strain count, favorite strain type, and total grams in your stash.

Achievement Nudge

Your nearest achievement goal at 80%+ progress with a progress bar, achievement name, and tap target to view details.

Trending Strains

A horizontally scrollable carousel of popular strains from the database, updated regularly.
Additionally, the bottom of the dashboard includes a Blog Section with the latest articles from thisiswhyimhigh.com.

Pull to Refresh

The entire dashboard supports pull-to-refresh. When you pull down, High IQ refreshes all data sources in parallel:
  • Stash inventory and stats from Convex
  • Latest reports and collection data
  • Blog article cache (cleared and refetched)
  • API health check

Quick Actions Grid

The Quick Actions section provides fast access to the four most common tasks:

Upload Receipt

Navigate to the receipt upload screen to scan or photograph a dispensary receipt for automatic order import.

Browse Strains

Jump to the full strain browser with search, filters, and sorting.

Scan Label

Open the AI label scanner to photograph a product label and get instant terpene extraction and High Family classification.

Ask AI

Open the Ask AI chat to get answers about your stash, strain recommendations, and cannabis knowledge from Professor High.

Signed-Out Experience

If you are not signed in, the dashboard still displays all sections but wraps personal data in Locked Preview Overlays. These overlays show realistic mock data (e.g., mock stash with 24.5g across 6 strains) so you can see what the feature looks like before creating an account. Tapping any locked section prompts you to sign in.

API Health Indicator

The dashboard includes an automatic health check that runs every 30 seconds. If the API server is offline, a subtle warning banner appears at the top:
API Server Offline — Some features may be limited. Stash management and notebooks continue to work since they use Convex (real-time sync), but strain search, trending strains, and label scanning require the API.

Tips

Pull down to refresh if data looks stale. The dashboard caches data for performance, so a manual refresh ensures you see the latest stats and reports.
Tap the “View Stash” link next to “Current Strains” to jump directly to your full stash management screen with sorting, card variants, and history timeline.
