Logline

Take a real dispensary label. Rewrite it with brutal honesty. “Warning: 96% myrcene. You will think profound thoughts about ceiling fans.” Pure meme content, designed to be screenshotted and shared, secretly carrying the brand’s myth-busting message.

Concept

If Labels Told The Truth is a parody-format show. The premise is single-frame and extremely portable: a real cannabis label next to an honest cannabis label. The honest one tells the truth the marketing copy never will - that the strain is monoterpenoid, that “top shelf” means whatever the dispensary decided that morning, that 23% THC tells you almost nothing about how the high will feel. The format lives or dies on the writing. Each parody label is short, specific, and grounded in real chemistry or real industry behavior. The humor is dry - Professor High never breaks character to tell a joke - and the punchlines come from the data being honest in a context that is almost never honest. The show is a Trojan horse for the brand thesis. The audience laughs. They screenshot. They share. And every shared screenshot carries the same payload: terpene profiles matter, strain names are marketing, the THC race is broken. The myth-busting message arrives by humor, not by lecture.

Why It Works

Built for the screenshot

Single-frame content. The viewer does not need to watch a video. The image is the joke.

Parody is shareable

Honest takes wrapped in humor get past the cynicism that defeats earnest myth-busting content.

Brand message embedded

The watermark and tone carry TIWIH wherever the screenshot lands. Every share is a brand impression.

Format

Static image post. Carousel on Instagram for the side-by-side. Single image on X.
BeatWhat It Looks Like
Slide 1The real label - photo or recreated graphic of an actual dispensary label.
Slide 2The honest label - same template, rewritten copy. Watermark in the corner.
CaptionOne line of context. Tag the strain or the producer if cleared.
TIWIH watermarkSmall but legible. Survives screenshots.
When adapted to video for TikTok or Reels, the format is a 15-to-25-second reveal cut: real label on screen, then a wipe to the honest label. Voiceover is optional.

Example Episodes

A “Top Shelf” Label Translated. The original reads “Top Shelf - Hand Trimmed - Premium Indoor.” The honest version reads “We charge $60 per eighth because we can. The terpene profile is 84% myrcene. You will be on the couch in nine minutes.” Private Reserve, Decoded. “Private Reserve” is decoded as “we held back the jars that looked the best for photography.” Honest copy notes the lab numbers and the actual chemistry behind the marketing varnish. When “Craft Cannabis” Actually Means Something. The rare flip - a real label that holds up under honesty. The honest version is almost identical. The bit is that the honest label is unremarkable because the original was already truthful. Edible Packaging Edition. A category shift. Gummy packs and chocolate bars get the honest treatment. “10mg per piece. 100mg per pack. We assume you will not read this. We are not wrong.” The Most Absurd Strain Name Reimagined. A strain name that already sounds like a warning label gets one. “Astronaut Status OG” becomes a literal warning label about the limonene percentage and what an hour with that profile actually feels like.

Production Notes

Build a master “honest label” template that mimics the look of a real cannabis package - rounded corners, COA-style typography, child-resistant warning blocks. The visual fidelity sells the joke. Lazy parody graphics break the bit. TIWIH watermark sits in a fixed corner location - small enough to be subtle, large enough to survive an Instagram repost. The watermark is the brand recovery for shares that strip the caption. Voice in the parody copy is Professor High at his driest. No exclamation points. No emoji. The humor lives in the contrast between the medical-warning tone and the casually devastating content.

Pillar

Myth Busting - with a quiet hand from Lifestyle & Culture. The format roasts the marketing layer that the cannabis industry built around itself. The lifestyle voice keeps it from reading as dour.
