Live dispensary visits. Scan a label at the counter. Instantly shred the marketing with the Label Scanner app. A product demo that does not feel like one because the demo is the show.Concept
Scan This is the in-the-wild companion to Scan & Roast. Where Scan & Roast plays out in the studio against curated labels, Scan This walks into a real dispensary, scans products at the counter, and uses the Label Scanner to translate the marketing into reality in the moment of need. The host - Prof High delivered as an overlay or a real-world stand-in with the Prof High persona - holds the phone up to a label. The app reads the strain, the cannabinoids, and what little terpene data is printed. It cross-references against the 19,000-strain database. Then the verdict comes back on screen. “The label says uplifting. The terpene profile says sedating. This is exactly why the app exists.” The format works because it solves the problem in the moment the problem exists. Most cannabis content asks you to remember something for later. This show shows the audience that they can have a smarter shopping companion in their pocket the next time they walk into a dispensary. Every episode is an unscripted demo that ends with an actual purchase decision: what got bought, what got skipped, and why.Why It Works
Demo in context
The product is shown working in the exact environment the audience would use it. There is no selling - there is just the app being useful on camera.
In-the-wild authenticity
Handheld, vertical, real dispensaries, real budtenders, real prices on the wall. The format reads as a vlog, which is what TikTok rewards.
Decision moment captured
Every episode ends with a real purchase. Not a recommendation - a transaction. That makes the audience trust the host’s read on every other label.
Format
| Beat | Runtime | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| Walk-in | 0:00-0:15 | Establishing shot. Dispensary name on the lower-third. |
| Label flip-through | 0:15-0:35 | Quick montage of the labels we are about to scan. |
| The scan | 0:35-1:00 | App screen-record overlay. Live verdict for two or three picks. |
| The disagreement | 1:00-1:25 | Where the label and the data disagree most. Professor High’s read. |
| The purchase | 1:25-1:45 | What got bought. What got left on the shelf. Why. |
Platforms
| Platform | Role |

| Instagram Reels | Mirror. Stories used for “guess which one I bought” polls. |
| YouTube Shorts | The same cut. Different audience tail. |
Cadence
Weekly. One dispensary per week. Builds a regional map of visits over time.Example Episodes
Scan This: walking into a high-end dispensary, what the labels say vs what the scan reveals. The pilot. A premium shop with premium prices. The scanner reveals which labels earn the markup and which do not. Sets the show’s voice as fair, not snarky. Scan This: a dispensary where every label claims something different, running the app on all of them. A messy menu becomes the test case. The app’s job is to bring order to chaos in real time. Scan This: when the scanner agrees with the budtender (the rare moment). A celebration episode. A budtender whose recommendations actually match the data. We name them, we tip well, we tell the audience to ask for them. Scan This: a chain dispensary vs an independent, does the labeling honesty differ? Side-by-side visit. Same shopping list. Two stores. The data answers a question the audience has been asking for years. Scan This: scanning the menu I was about to spend $200 at, and what I bought instead. The high-stakes version. The original cart, the scan, the rebuilt cart. Shows the dollar value of using the tool.Production Notes
Handheld vertical capture throughout. App screen recordings are overlaid as picture-in-picture so the audience can see the verdict as it lands. A “SCAN VERDICT” lower-third repeats every time a new label gets scanned. Every dispensary visit is identified by name on screen - we are not anonymous, and we are not afraid of consequences. Each episode ends on the receipt and the bag, which makes the purchase decision feel real and final.Hashtags & Discovery
