Why This Pack Exists

The video teardowns name this format outright as the one to make Professor High’s signature recurring bit, and give three reasons:
  1. It needs exactly two drawings — confident pose, destroyed pose. The cheapest recurring format available to an animated character.
  2. It is infinitely re-skinnable across every dose, product type and delivery method.
  3. Onset-timing education is genuinely useful information delivered as a joke.
It is also the only stoner format whose comic engine is pharmacologically true. Edibles metabolise into a different molecule with different timing. The meme is documentary, not exaggeration — which is exactly the seam Professor High works. Ten reps, because one rep of a format teaches nothing. The format either shows up in the numbers across ten or it does not.

The Compliance Adaptation

The classic format depicts consumption. Ours does not, and does not need to.The comic engine is the delay, not the act. So every episode opens after the dose — on the confident declaration — and cuts to the aftermath. The eating happens off-screen, before frame one. Nothing is ever swallowed, lit, or held on camera. This is not a compromise. Cutting the act tightens the format: two poses instead of three, and the joke starts on the line instead of on a chew.

The Structure

Beat 3 is the entire payoff and it must be a hard cut — no dissolve, no wipe, no time-lapse. The abruptness is the joke. A transition softens the reversal and kills it.
The recurring line is fixed. Everything else re-skins. “This edible ain’t shit” is the immovable element — the audience learns it, anticipates it, and eventually says it before the character does. That anticipation is the asset. Do not rewrite it for variety.

The Cast

EAS-001 — The Baseline

Hooks Script Caption
He was right. It wasn’t shit — for forty more minutes. Swallowing it sends it through your liver first, and what comes out the other side is a different molecule than what you’d have inhaled. Same plant. Different chemistry. Different timeline. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-002 — “I’ll Just Take Half”

Hooks Script Caption
“I only took half” assumes the thing was mixed evenly. Nothing about a homemade or hand-cut piece guarantees that. Half a piece is not half a dose — it’s an unknown fraction of an unknown number. Lab-tested and pre-portioned exists for exactly this reason. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-003 — The Tolerance Argument

Hooks Script Caption
“Edibles don’t work on me, I smoke every day” — a tolerance built by inhaling is a tolerance to what you inhaled. Swallowing routes it through the liver first, which produces a different compound with a different timeline. Different route, different molecule, different rules. Your daily tolerance did not transfer. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-004 — The Empty Stomach Theory

Hooks Script Caption
“Empty stomach so it’s gentler” is backwards. Food — fat especially — changes absorption timing, and research associates a fed state with a slower, longer curve rather than a weaker one. Empty stomach doesn’t shrink the dose. It moves the arrival time forward. Save this one for a Friday. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-005 — The Second One

Hooks Script Caption
The second one is never a second experience. It’s the same experience, arriving all at once, forty minutes late. Onset is a window, not a switch. If nothing has happened yet, nothing has happened yet. How long do you wait? Be honest in the comments. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-006 — “It’s Only Ten Milligrams”

Hooks Script Caption
“It’s only ten milligrams” — ten milligrams is the standard single serving, not a rounding error. The number sounds small because it’s small as a number, not because it’s small as a dose. Reading the label and understanding the label are two different skills. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-007 — The Homemade One

Hooks Script Caption
Untested means there is no dose. Not a low dose — no dose. “Mild” from the person who made it is a feeling, not a measurement. Lab-tested and labelled exists so that a number exists. Everyone knows a Dave. Name him in the comments. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-008 — The Drink

Hooks Script Caption
A cannabis beverage isn’t a gentler edible — emulsified drinks are formulated for a faster onset than solids. The category people assume is the mild one is often the quickest. “It’s basically a soda” is the most expensive sentence in the category. Save this before your next one. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-009 — The Three O’Clock Meeting

Hooks Script Caption
Everyone plans around onset. Almost nobody plans around duration — and swallowed cannabis runs substantially longer than inhaled. The mistake isn’t taking it. The mistake is scheduling. What did you have to reschedule? Comments. This is why I’m high → thisiswhyimhigh.com

EAS-010 — The One Where It Genuinely Ain’t Shit

Hooks Script Caption
Nine times out of ten “this edible ain’t shit” is the setup. Sometimes it’s just true — the liver enzymes that convert swallowed THC vary a lot between people. Some convert fast, some slow, some barely at all. Same dose, same weight, completely different evening. Which is exactly why someone else’s experience is not data about you. Look up what’s actually in yours → thisiswhyimhigh.com This is why I’m high.

Pack Notes

Post EAS-010 last, and only after the other nine have run. The subversion only works on an audience that has learned the format. Running it early spends the payoff on people who have not yet built the expectation.
